Scamps McGee is On the Air!
Bob and Dave uncovered a real gem this month with Scamps McGee - Hobo With a Heart of Gold, performed live back in 1933 by the Dasher’s Radio Theater on the Air Players at the old DSH Radio Studio in the Village.
Charles “Scamps” McGee was a hero in the Great War who found himself on the wrong side of history as a banker. After the crash left him penniless he was rescued and taught the way of the road by the mysterious Flat Footed Stranger. Now he and his dog Bindle ride the rails to try to make amends for their sinister banking escapades in this comedy adventure.
On the lookout for the marks of the Flatfooted Stranger, Scamps and Bindle uncover a sinister plot by an evil landlord to win the hand of the lovely Miss Hettie Williams. Can Scamps and Bindle save the day?
Listen in for the history of the show and the full episode of “The Problematic Proposal.”
